The Formidable Trio

With combined decades of experience, Mike Prior and Dean Stokes have helped Able Solar Ltd become what it is today, a reputable leader in the off-grid and solar water pumping industry with a growing network of installers and service agents across New Zealand.

Mike Prior, whose family bought Able Solar in September 2016, is the managing director. He put to good use his expertise in engineering and electronics, taking on the role of technical support and sales before embracing the huge responsibility of managing an outstanding team of installers and electricians nationwide. A family man at heart, Mike enjoys fishing and making the most of off-grid living whenever he can.

Dean Stokes has worked in the solar industry for over a decade, bringing with him a solid background in horticulture. He now heads up sales and dispatch at Able Solar Ltd and has been instrumental in its steady growth and stability. Dean’s practical knowledge and down-to-earth approach make him a cornerstone of the business.

Completing the team is Ryan Bennett, who joined Able Solar three years ago with a background in horticulture, hospitality, and logistics. Hands-on and eager to learn, Ryan has even installed his own hybrid system at home. He’s passionate about helping others go off-grid and continues to grow his expertise in solar and renewable energy. Outside work, he enjoys gardening, barbecuing, and spending time with his young family.

Together, Mike, Dean, and Ryan form a passionate, skilled trio, driving Able Solar Ltd forward and helping more Kiwis achieve true energy independence.
